The Great Lakes Loons played their first game ever and blew out the South Bend Silver Hawks.  Matthew Berezay led the way with two hits, three runs and two RBIs while Preston Mattingly scored twice and drove in a run without getting a hit.

The bad news was Clayton Kershaw, who had a tough time out on the mound.  He lasted just 2 1/3 innings and he walked six.  He left the game with two runs and two hits to credit.
