Loons Comeback Falls Short In Loss to Burlington

by @ 11:14 pm. Filed under Clayton Kershaw, Preston Mattingly, Great Lakes Loons - May 2007

The Loons scored two runs in the ninth but still lost 3-2 as their comeback fell short.  Preston Mattingly was the hitting star in the loss.  He went two for four with a double, a run and an RBI.  Mattingly is still struggling though and his batting average is still an unhealthy .190.  Hopefully with the weather warming up, he’ll heat up as well.

Clayton Kershaw took the loss and he dropped to 4-2.  He gave up two runs (one earned) three hits and three walks with seven strikeouts in four innings.
