The Loons held off a late inning comeback attempt by South Bend in a 10-9 game that saw South Bend score five runs in the bottom of the ninth.  Eduardo Perez homered and drove in five runs in the win while Preston Mattingly continues to hit the ball well the last couple of weeks and he went four for five with a run and an RBI.

Clayton Kershaw almost saw the pen blow his sixth win of the season. He gave up one unearned run on three hits and three walks with six strikeouts in five innings.
