The Suns blew a 6-5 lead in the bottom of the eighth and it was a rough outing by Matt Riley that put them down. He gave up four runs (one earned) on three hits and four walks with three strikeouts in two innings. The loss drops him to 0-1 on the season.

The Suns won 5-2 and while they held the opposition to just four hits, three different pitchers gave up eleven walks. Fortunately, it didn’t come back to haunt the Suns. Carlos Alvarez threw four innings of relief and he improved to 3-0 on the season. He gave up two runs on four hits and four walks with two strikeouts.
Chin-Lung Hu was the hitting star. He went three for five with two doubles and two runs. Xavier Paul singled and drove in two runs.
Pitching reigned in this contest between the Suns and Tennessee. Michael Megrew was awesome in his seven shutout innings and he gave up just three hits with six strikeouts. Unfortunately, the Suns didn’t score for him so he didn’t get a decision. Jonathon Meloan finished the game up and gave up a single hit with three strikeouts in the final two frames to pick up the win.
The lone run didn’t come until there were two outs in the bottom of the ninth. Xavier Paul singled home A.J. Ellis for the game winner.
