Vegas Edges Fresno In Twelve Innings

Delwyn Young singled home Wilson Valdez in the top of the twelth and that proved to be the game winner in Las Vegas’ 5-4 win over Fresno.  Sergio Garcia had a productive day at the plate and he went two for four with two doubles, two RBIs and a walk.

Matt White picked up the win with two shutout innings of relief.  He gave up one hit and he struck out one.

Eric Stults Pitches Vegas to Win Over Memphis

Eric Stults improved to 5-4 on the season with a nice start in Vegas’ 5-4 win over Memphis.  He gave up two runs on four hits and one walks with four strikeouts in six innings.

James Loney went four for five with a double and a run.  Sergio Garcia went three for four with a double and two runs.

Eric Stults Throws Five Shutout Innings In Vegas Win

Las Vegas shutout Tacoma 6-0 and Eric Stults picked up the win.  He gave up just single hit with six strikeouts in five shutout innings. Hong-Chih Kuo threw four shutout innings in his start and he gave up four hits and he struck out four.

Ken Huckaby was the hitting star.  He went two for four with a double and three RBIs.  Sergio Garcia drove in the other three runs with a three run homer.

Eric Stults Pitches Las Vegas to Win Over Portland

Eric Stults got it done on the mound for Las Vegas in their 6-1 win over Portland.  He gave up a run on five hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in six innings of work.  The win improves his record to 3-4 on the season.

Tony Abreu had a nice day at the plate with four hits and an RBI.  That boosts his season batting average to .360 and he has 33 runs in 36 games.  Sergio Garcia went two for five with a double, a homerun and two runs scored.

Miguel Pinango Pitches Vegas to Win Over Portland

Miguel Pinango got it done for Las Vegas on the mound in their 6-1 win over Portland.  He gave up one run on three hits and four walks with three walks in six innings of work.  The win improved his record to 2-0 on the season.

Larry Bigbie had a nice day at the plate.  He went three for four with a double and a solo homerun. Sergio Garcia singled and he drove in two runs.

51s Blown Out By Tacoma

Las Vegas pitchers gave up 15 runs in a 15-1 blowout loss to Tacoma.  Eric Stults took the biggest hit and he also took the loss in his start.  He gave up seven runs on eight and two walks with one strikeout. 

Larry Bigbie was a perfect three for three in the loss.  Sergio Garcia drove in the only Vegas run with a sac. fly in the fourth.

Walks Haunt Vegas in Loss to Sacramento

51s pitchers gave up nine walks in their 4-3 loss to Sacramento.  D.J. Houlton had a good enough start but he gave up two runs on three hits and four walks with four strikeouts in six innings.  Luis Gonzalez gave up the run that mattered in the ninth as Las Vegas lost it.

Sergio Garcia drove in all of Las Vegas’ runs with one swing of the bat.   He hit a three run homerun and Tomas Perez finished with two hits and a run.

Las Vegas Hits Four Homeruns in Win Over Salt Lake

It was all about the long ball today as Las Vegas outscored Salt Lake 9-6.  The offense hit four homeruns in all with Sergio Garcia, Mitch Jones, Kelly Stinnett and Tomas Perez all went yard in the game.

Greg Miller didn’t pick up a decision in his start and he gave up three runs with seven strikeouts in four innings.  Spike Lundberg was actually hit the hardest but he was the one who picked up the win.
