Michael Gardner improved to 5-4 on the season with a decent enough start in the Raptors 6-3 win over Missoula. He gave up three runs on five hits and two walks with four strikeouts in six innings.
Jaime Ortiz went two for four with a homerun, two RBIs and two runs. Alex Garabedian doubled twice and drove in three in the win.
The Raptors continued their struggles with their fourth straight loss. Michael Gardner took the loss in a tough start and he fell to 2-2 on the season. He gave up four runs (three earned) on ten hits and one walk with three strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings. Wilfredo Diaz was bombed for five runs and he was able to get only one hitter out.
Jovanny Rosario went two for four with a double and two RBIs in the 9-4 loss. Jaime Pedroza doubled twice and he scored a run.
Michael Gardner improved to 1-0 on the season since joing the Raptors with a great start in their 8-1 win over Orem. He gave up just two hits and two walks with six strikeouts in six solid innings.
Jovanny Rosario went two for four with a triple, two RBIs and a run in the win. Jaime Ortiz belted a solo homerun and he finished with two runs scored.
The Loons and South Bend each took a game in their doubleheader. In the first game, Cody White threw five shutout innings and he improved to 5-5 on the season. Eduardo Perez went two for three with a homerun, two RBIs and two runs. Adolfo Gonzalez went three for four with a double, a homerun, two RBIs and two runs.
Game two didn’t go quite as well because the Loons were shutout on four hits. Michael Gardner gave up three runs in five innings and he dropped to 3-3 on the season. Bridger Hunt was the only Loon to reach base twice with a single and a walk.
The Loons won a hitfest and scored five runs in the top of the ninth to top Clinton 11-9. Preston Mattingly had a huge game and he went four for six with two doubles, an RBI and two runs. Trayvon Robinson went two for six with six RBIs and Josh Bell finished three for six with a two run homer.
Thomas Melgarejo gave up six runs in five innings and while Michael Gardner gave up three runs in four innings, he picked up his third win of the season.
The Loons picked up just four hits in their 5-0 loss to Lancaster. Justin Fuller had the only extra base hit of the game. He went one for three with a double.
Michael Gardner was roughed up and he lost his first start of the season. He gave up four runs on four hits and three walks with two strikeouts in four innings.
The Loons got some pretty good pitching in their win over Fort Wayne. Thomas Melgarejo had a mediocre start and he gave up two runs on four hits but the pen was awesome. Michael Gardner improved to 2-o with three shutout innings and then Francisco Felix threw two no hit innings to pick up the save.
Francisco Lizarraga had a nice day at the plate in the 3-2 win. He went four for five with a run.
Starter Steven Johnson had a solid if short start for the Loons yesterday. He gave up just a single run on three hits and two walks with three strikeouts in only four innings of work. Even better then that was the pen as Michael Gardner and Jesus Rodriguez threw five shutout innings in which they gave up just three hits with five strikeouts.
Centerfielder Trayvon Robinson had the big day at the plate. He went three for four with two runs and an RBI.
