Ken Huckaby was the hitting star in the win. He was the only player with two hits and he also drove in two of the four runs.
You wonder why Eric Stults was left in there so long but he definitely took it on the chin. He gave up eight runs on twelve hits and a walk with three strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings. The loss drops him to 2-4 on the season.
Delwyn Young was the hitting star in the 10-3 loss. He went two for four with a solo homerun. Ken Huckaby also went yard and it was his first of the season.
It’s hard to believe that the 51s actually had the lead in this one. They were up 6-4 before three different relievers gave up two runs each in the seventh, eighth and nine innings in the 10-6 loss. It’s not like they blew a great start by Joe Mays (fours runs on seven hits in six innings) or anything but the run support was there for the win.
Ken Huckaby had three hits and two RBIs. Mitch Jones doubled twice and drove in two runs. Matt Kemp went 0 for 3 as he made his Las Vegas debut after some time with the big league club. It’s a shame he got sent down because was hitting the ball well for the Dodgers but I guess they just don’t have enough room.
