Not only did Marlon Arias give up five runs in 2 1/3 innings in his start, but Jordan Pratt gave up four more in his three innings to truly blow the five run lead the hitters game them in the second innings. Pratt took the loss and he fell to 2-4 on the season.
Ryan Rogowski was the hitting star in the 10-5 loss. He went two for five and he drove in five runs.
Inland Empire’s pitching gave up nineteen runs on nineteen hits in their 19-7 loss. Jordan Pratt was hit the hardest and he took the loss. He gave up seven runs in 1 1/3 innings.
Jamie Hoffman drove in three runs in the loss. Russell Mitchell had three hits, a run and an RBI.
While Javy Guerra didn’t have a horrible start, it wasn’t great either and he gave up two runs in four innings. Fortunately the pen was awesome. Jordan Pratt threw three shutout innings to pick up the win and Brent Leach struck out four in two shutout frames for the save.
Jamie Hoffmann had a big game at the plate. He went two for four with a homerun and two RBIs.
Inland Empire edged Lancaster in a 9-8 high scoring affair as Lucas May led the way with the bat. He went two for four with two homeruns, four RBIs and three runs in the win. Shane Justis went three for for four with a double, an RBI and two runs.
James McDonald was hit hard in his start and he gave up five runs on eight hits and three walks with two strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings. Jordan Pratt picked him up in relief though and he got the win. He gave up one hit and he struck out five in 4 1/3 innings.
These rehab starts really aren’t that fair as Inland Empire lost to MLB Cy Young winner Bartolo Colon. They did tag him for two runs at least, and that’s something that should be encouraging.
Alberto Bastardo had a rough start. He took the loss and he gave up three runs on five hits and two walk with four strikeouts in just 2 1/3 innings. Jordan Pratt game up a run in 4 1/3 innings but he struck out seven in an impressive relief appearance.
Ivan DeJesus went three for four with a double and a run while Blade DeWitt went two for four with a double, a run and an RBI.
