The Suns lost to the Barons 5-3 and Michael Megrew was hit hard. He gave up five runs on six hits and three walks in five innings.
John Lindsey was the hitting star. He went two for five with a double and two RBIs.
The Suns lost 3-2 and the offense never really got going in this one. Xavier Paul hit a two run homer to account for the two Suns runs and no other hitter even had an extra base hit.
A nice start by Giuseppe Norrito went to waste in the loss. He gave up two runs on seven hits with three strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings.
Eric Cyr improved to 5-1 on the season with a nice start in the Suns 5-3 win over the Barons. He gave up three runs on four hits and a walk with five strikeouts in eight innings.
Cory Dunlap provided most of the offense in the win. He doubled and drove in three runs.
Jacksonville got plenty of offense in their 10-3 win over the Barons and it was a nice team effort. Six different Suns’ had two hits and three different Suns drove in two runs. Xavier Paul did it all and he went two for five with a homerun, two RBIs and two runs.
Justin Orenduff had a nice start in the win. He gave up one run on two hits and two walks with seven strikeouts in five innings of work.
Suns pitchers were hit hard in a 9-5 loss to the Smokies. Zachary Hammes gave up three runs in 2 2/3 innings. Luis Gonzalez took the loss and he gave up three runs in his single inning of work.
John Lindsey homered and drove in two runs in the loss. A.J. Ellis went two for three with a double, a run and an RBI.
Michael Megrew dropped to 3-4 on the season in the Suns 9-7 loss to the Smokies. He gave up eight of those nine runs on five hits and three walks in just three innings.
David Nicholson was the hitting star in the loss. He went three for four and he belted a three run homer. Octavio Martinez went two for four with a solo homerun and two runs scored.
Chin Lung Hu has probably played as good as any Dodger prospect has this year. Not only is he one of the fielding shortstops in the game, but he hit his first homerun of the season to go along with his awesome .349/.386/.500 line. Just as impressive is the fact that he’s only struck out 18 times. The walks aren’t quite there, but he’s making contact quite a bit. The only thing in Hu’s way now is Rafael Furcal.
Giuseppe Norrito picked up his first win of the season. He gave up three runs on seven hits and a strikeout in 6 1/3 innings.
Marshall McDougall had a big day at the plate in the Suns 8-2 win over the Smokies. He went three for five with a double, a homerun and five RBIs. Chin Lung Hu continued to rake and he picked up three more hits and he scored three times to keep his batting average up over .350.
Eric Cyr picked up the win and he improved to 4-1 on the season. He gave up two runs on eight hits and he struck out three in six innings of work.
The good news is, the Suns hitters racked up eleven runs. The bad news is, the pitchers gave up 16 in a tough loss. Justin Orenduff was hit hard in his start and he took the loss. He gave up seven runs (just three earned) in 2 2/3 innings.
Octavio Martinez hit a three run homer in the loss. Anthony Raglani went one for two with three walks, a homerun, two RBIs and three runs.
Marshall McDougall was the hitting star in the Suns 4-3 win over Carolina. He went two for three with a double and two RBIs.
John Meloan picked up the win with two shutout innings of relief. He gave up two walks and he struck out four and improved to 5-2 on the season.
