Giuseppe Norrito Pitches Suns to Win Over Barons

Giuseppe Norrito improved to 4-0 on the season with a decent enough start in the Suns 5-4 win over the Barons.  He gave up three runs on five hits with one strikeout in six innings of work.

Kevin Howard went two for three with a double, a walk and a run.  A.J. Ellis went two for four with a run.

Jimmy Rohan Helps Hit Suns to Win Over Barons

Jacksonville dismantled Birmingham 15-7 and there were plenty of hitting stars in the game.  Jimmy Rohan went three for five with two RBIs and three runs.  Kevin Howard went four for six with a double, a run and an RBI.  James Tomlin had an unusual game.  He had just one hit (a double) but he drove in three and scored three runs.

Mark Alexander picked up the win with three mediocre innings of relief.  He gave up two runs on two hits and a walk.

Suns Held to One Run In Loss to Barons

Jacksoville didn’t get much production at the plate in their 5-1 loss to Birmingham.  Jimmy Rohan was the hitting star (if you can even call it that) and he went two for three and he drove in the only run for the Suns.

Zachary Hammes took the loss and he fell to 3-4 on the season. He gave up five runs (four earned) on six hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings.

Alvis Ojeda Throws Five Shutout Innings In Suns Win

Alvis Ojeda improved to 3-4 on the season with a nice start in the Suns 6-1 win over the Barons.  He gave up just seven hits and three walks with three strikeouts in five innings of work.

Chin Lung Hu was one of the hitting stars in the win.  He went two for four with a walk, an RBI and two runs.  James Tomlin went three for five with a double and an RBI.

Eric Cyr Throws Seven Solid Innings In Suns Loss

Eric Cyr saw a nice start go to waste in the Suns 3-2 loss to the Barons.  He gave up three runs on seven hits and two walks with six strikeouts in seven quality innings.  The loss drops him to 6-2 on the season.

James Tomlin was the hitting star in the loss.  He went three for four with a double and a run.

Suns Sweep Second Straight Doubleheader Over Carolina

The Suns made it four straight with back to back doubleheader sweeps over Carolina.  In the first game, A.J. Ellis doubled and drove in three runs while Xavier Paul was a perfect two for two with a homerun, a walk and two runs scored.  Giuseppe Noritto improved to a perfect 3-0 and he gave up two runs on six hits with four strikeouts in five innings.

Game two saw Wesley Wright throw five shutout innings.  He gave up two hits and two walks with five strikeouts and he improved to 5-2 on the season.  Chin-Lung Hu went two for three with a solo homerun.

Suns Sweep Doubleheader Over Carolina

The Suns and Carolina played two and it was Jacksonville who came out on top in both games.  In the first game, Zachary Hammes threw four solid innings of relief and he picked up the win.  Xavier Paul was the hitting star in the 4-1 win with a two run homer.

Game two was an impressive pitcher’s duel with Michael Megrew striking out seven in five shutout innings.  A.J. Ellis went two for three with an RBI.

Alberto Concepcion Drives In Six Runs in Suns Win

Alberto Concepcion had a huge day in the Suns 12-5 win over Carolina.  He went four for five with two doubles, a homerun, six RBIs and two runs.  James Tomlin had two hits and three runs while Cory Dunlap went three for four with an RBI and two runs.

Alvis Ojeda picked up the win despite a mediocre start.  He gave up five runs on seven hits and two walks with three strikeouts in five innings.

Suns Edge Biscuits For Sixth Straight Win

Juan Gonzalez had a big day at the plate in the Suns sixth straight win.  He went three for four with a homerun, two RBIs and two runs.  Chin Lung Hu also had a nice game and he went three for four with a walk, a double, a triple, one run and an RBI.

Wesley Wright picked up the win despite having a shaky 1 1/3 inning of relief.  He gave up one run on two hits and he struck out one.

Zachary Hammes Pitches Suns to Fifth Straight Win

Zachary Hammes improved to 2-3 on the season in the Suns fifth straight win.  He gave up one run on three hits with three strikeouts in six innings.

Marshall McDougall was the hitting star in the 8-2 win.  He went two for four with a homerun, three RBIs and two runs.
