Las Vegas lost 11-7 and Hong-Chih Kuo took the loss in a rough start. He gave up five runs on six hits and two walks with five strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings. Eric Stults was also knocked around and he gave up six runs in 3 1/3 innings.
Matt Kemp went three for four with a double and three runs scored. Wilson Valdez went three for five and he drove in two runs.
Las Vegas shutout Tacoma 6-0 and Eric Stults picked up the win. He gave up just single hit with six strikeouts in five shutout innings. Hong-Chih Kuo threw four shutout innings in his start and he gave up four hits and he struck out four.
Ken Huckaby was the hitting star. He went two for four with a double and three RBIs. Sergio Garcia drove in the other three runs with a three run homer.
For the second straight game, the 51s managed just one run and the end result is a 3-1 loss to Tacoma. James Loney drove home Tony Abreu in the first inning and that was it.
Hong-Chih Kuo lasted only two innings and there’s no indication as to why because he seemed to put up a decent line. D.J. Houlton then threw five solid innings in which he gave up two runs on five hits and walk with five strikeouts, but it wasn’t enough for the win.
