The Loons were double bageled as they were shutout in both of their games against Fort Wayne. In game one, a solid start by Johsua Wall went to waste. He gave up just one run on one hit and two walks with three strikeouts in seven innings. Eduardo Perez’s single was the only baserunner for the Loons.
In game two, the hitting still wasn’t there but the pitching was hit hard as well. Steven Johnson ended up taking the loss and while he gave up five runs, only one of them was earned because the Loons made four errors in the game. And the hitters picked up just two singles to make for a pathetic doubleheader.
The Loons hitters struggled to get much of anything in a 3-2 loss to Fort Wayne. Both runs came on one swing of the bat with a Joshua Bell two run homer. He was one of two Loons hitters to have two hits in the game.
A very nice start by Garrett White went to waste. He gave up one run on six hits with seven strikeouts in six innings of work.

Joshua Bell provided all of the offense for the Loons. He went two for four and his two run homer drove in both of the Loons two runs.
Cody White improved to 8-5 on the season with a nice start in the Loons 2-1 win over South Bend. He gave up just one run on four hits and three walks with five strikeouts in eight innings.
Juan Apodaca went two for three in the win. Francisco Lizarraga doubled and he scored one of the Loons two runs.
The Loons got nothing from their hitters in a 3-0 loss to South Bend. Josh Bell was the only hitter to reach base twice and he went two for four with a double.
A pretty good start by Joshua Wall went to waste. He gave up one run on three hits and three walks with four strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings. The loss drops his record to 4-8 on the season.
The Loons lost their first game back from the All Star Break in an 11-5 loss to South Bend. Arismendy Castillo was roughed up and he gave up five runs on four hits and four walks with three strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings.
Matthew Berezay provided most of the offense with a three run homer. Joshua Bell went two for four with two runs.
The pen failed the Loons in their 4-3 loss to South Bend but it was Cody White who had his start go to waste. He gave up three hits and five walks with six strikeouts in six shutout innings. Miguel Sanfler gave up three runs and he took the loss.
Joshua Bell was the hitting star in the loss. He went two for four and both of hits were doubles.
Preston Mattingly had a very nice day at the plate in the Loons 7-4 win over South Bend. He went three for four with an RBI, two runs and a stolen base. After a pretty poor start to the season where he was hovering right around .200, he’s now pushed his batting average up to .265. He’s hitting .389 in June with a 1.003 OPS after hitting .224 in April and .216 in May.
Joshua Wall picked up the win and he improved to 4-7 on the season. He gave up four runs on eight hits and two walks with four strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.
Scott Van Slyke had a big day at the plate in the Loons 7-2 win over South Bend. He went three for four with a double, a homerun and four RBIs. Preston Mattingly went two for four with two RBIs and two runs.
Arismendy Castillo improved to 2-3 on the season with a nice start. He gave up one unearned run on six hits and two walks with one strikeout in seven innings of work.
The Loons made a 9-1 game interesting by giving up six runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to make it a 9-7 win over the White Caps. Eduardo Perez had a monster day at the plate. He went four for five with a double, a homerun, three RBIs and two runs.
Cody White picked up the win and he improved to 7-5 on the season. He gave up one run on six hits and three walks with three strikeouts in five innings.
