Thomas Melgarejo gave up a run in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Loons lost to Beloit 7-6. Earlier in the game, the Loons had blown a 5-1 lead after Beloit scored five runs in the sixth inning.
Matthew Berezay went three for four with a double, a triple, an RBI and a run. Francisco Lizarraga went two for five with a solo homerun and two runs.
The Loons lost 8-3 and while James Adkins gave up just two of those runs, he took the loss and dropped to 0-1. He gave up two runs on two hits and two walks in just two innings of work.
Preston Mattingly was the only Loon with two hits. Brooks Parker drew a walk, drove in a run and scored.
Clayton Kershaw had one bad inning but he gave up four runs in it as he dropped to 7-4 on the season. He gave up the four runs on six hits and a walk with an impressive nine strikeouts in six innings of work.
Josh Bell went two for four with a solo homerun and two runs scored. Adolfo Gonzalez went three for four with a double, a run and an RBI.
The Loons got plenty of offense in their 10-4 win over Quad Cities. The game was called after seven because of rain but that didn’t stop the Loons from running up the score. Carlos Santana was the hitting star in the win. He went two for two with a walk, a double, a homerun, two runs and three RBIs. Matthew Berezay also made a big contribution with a three run homer.
David Pfeiffer picked up the win. He gave up one hit and two walks with one strikeout in three shutout innings of relief.
The Loons gave up a 2-0 lead late then almost came back themselves before falling short in a 4-3 loss to Burlington. Miguel Sanfler took the loss and he gave up the go ahead run in the eighth inning.
Thomas Giles had a nice day at the plate. He went three for five with two doubles and two runs in the loss.
A pretty good start by Joshua Wall went to waste as the Loons pen collapsed in a 7-5 loss to Burlington. Thomas Melgarejo gave up three runs and he got just one hitter out while David Pfeiffer gave up two runs in two innings and he took the loss.

The Lugnuts needed ten innings but they beat Burlington 6-5. It was an error that led to the winning run in the bottom of the tenth when Scott Van Slyke scored after Adolfo Gonzalez reached base on an error. Gonzalez finished the game with three hits and James Peterson went two for five with a double and two RBIs.
Thomas Melgarejo picked up the win with a shutout tenth inning. He improved to 4-5 on the season.
Josh Bell hit a big three run homer that capped off a five run sixth inning in the Loons 8-6 win over the White Caps. Thomas Giles also had a nice game and he went three for four with a solo homerun and two runs scored.
Paul Coleman picked up the win with 3 2/3 innings of solid relief. He gave up two runs (one earned) on six hits and three walks with two strikeouts and the win pushed his record to 1-0 on the season.
Josh Bell was one of the hitting stars in the Loons 6-1 win over the Lugnuts. He went two for three with a walk and a two run homer. Eduardo Perez singled, doubled and he scored twice.
Thomas Melgarejo picked up the win and he improved to 2-5 on the season. He gave up one hit and a walk with two strikeouts in 1 2/3 innings.
