Las Vegas hitters had a tough time at the plate in their 8-2 loss to Colorado Springs. Wilson Valdez singled, walked three times and scored one of the two runs and Ken Huckaby went two for four.
Eric Stults took the loss with a rough start. He gave up four runs on seven hits and three walks with five strikeouts in just three innings.
Las Vegas lost 8-5 but it wasn’t because of Delwyn Young. The leftfielder went three for five with a double, a homerun and two RBIs. Eric Stults also had a solid day at the plate trying to make up for a rough start. He went two for two with a homerun, two RBIs and two runs.
Casey Hoorelbeke took the loss. He gave up three runs in one inning of relief and he fell to 1-2 on the season.
Eric Stults improved to 5-4 on the season with a nice start in Vegas’ 5-4 win over Memphis. He gave up two runs on four hits and one walks with four strikeouts in six innings.
James Loney went four for five with a double and a run. Sergio Garcia went three for four with a double and two runs.
Las Vegas lost 11-7 and Hong-Chih Kuo took the loss in a rough start. He gave up five runs on six hits and two walks with five strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings. Eric Stults was also knocked around and he gave up six runs in 3 1/3 innings.
Matt Kemp went three for four with a double and three runs scored. Wilson Valdez went three for five and he drove in two runs.
Las Vegas shutout Tacoma 6-0 and Eric Stults picked up the win. He gave up just single hit with six strikeouts in five shutout innings. Hong-Chih Kuo threw four shutout innings in his start and he gave up four hits and he struck out four.
Ken Huckaby was the hitting star. He went two for four with a double and three RBIs. Sergio Garcia drove in the other three runs with a three run homer.
Eric Stults got it done on the mound for Las Vegas in their 6-1 win over Portland. He gave up a run on five hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in six innings of work. The win improves his record to 3-4 on the season.
Tony Abreu had a nice day at the plate with four hits and an RBI. That boosts his season batting average to .360 and he has 33 runs in 36 games. Sergio Garcia went two for five with a double, a homerun and two runs scored.
You wonder why Eric Stults was left in there so long but he definitely took it on the chin. He gave up eight runs on twelve hits and a walk with three strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings. The loss drops him to 2-4 on the season.
Delwyn Young was the hitting star in the 10-3 loss. He went two for four with a solo homerun. Ken Huckaby also went yard and it was his first of the season.
Las Vegas pitchers gave up 15 runs in a 15-1 blowout loss to Tacoma. Eric Stults took the biggest hit and he also took the loss in his start. He gave up seven runs on eight and two walks with one strikeout.
Larry Bigbie was a perfect three for three in the loss. Sergio Garcia drove in the only Vegas run with a sac. fly in the fourth.
Eric Stults had a good enough start. He gave up just three runs on eight hits with three strikeouts in six innings of work and he left the game with a tied. Unfortunately Spike Lundberg gave up three late runs as the 51s lost 6-4.
Mitch Jones hit a solo homerun in the loss. Tony Abreu went two for four with a double and a run.
Eric Stults got it done on the mound for the 51s with another solid start. He gave up just one run on eight hits and a walk with six strikeouts in the 2-1 win.
All of the offense was provided by Andy LaRoche. His two run homer accounted for both Las Vegas runs. Tony Abreu singled and he scored on the homerun.
