Las Vegas beat Fresno 4-3 and Marlon Anderson led the way in his rehab start. He went two for four with two doubles, three RBIs and a run. Wilson Valdez drew two walks and scored two runs.
Eric Hull got it done on the mound in his relief appearance. He threw three perfect innings and he struck out five.
Las Vegas had plenty of hitting stars but not many pitching stars in their 10-9 loss to Portland. Vegas jumped out to an 8-6 lead with three runs in the eighth only to see Portland scored four in the ninth to take the lead for good. James Loney was three for five with three RBIs and two runs. Mitch Jones went two for four with a homerun, three RBIs and two runs.
Eric Hull took the loss. He gave up three of the four ninth inning runs.
A pretty good start by D.J. Houlton went to waste in Vegas’ 5-3 loss to Tacoma. He gave up five hits and two walks with six striekouts in six innings. Matt White then gave up two runs in his one innings and Eric Hull took the loss after he gave up three more in the eighth.
Mitch Jones provided most of the offense with a two run homer. Matt Kemp went two for three with an RBI and a run.
Las Vegas finally picked up their first win of the season in a 9-4 win over Salt Lake. Tony Abreu had a big game at the plate. He went two for five with a triple, three RBIs and two runs. Larry Bigbie had four hits and Delwyn Young hit a solo homerun.
Greg Miller had a tough start and he walked five and gave up a run in three innings. Eric Hull ended up with the win after he pitched two innings of shutout relief.
