Inland Empire’s hunt for the California League championship came to an end in an 8-2 blowout loss to Lake Elsinore. Cody White had a rough start and he took the loss. He gave up three runs on six hits and two walks with one strikeout in four innings.
Shane Justis went three for four with a double and an RBI. Jaime Pedorza went three for four with two doubles and a run.
Cody White, while he didn’t pitch great, also saw Inland Empire make three errors behind which resulted in three unearned runs. He gave up five total runs on eight hits and three walks with three strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.
Andrew Locke went two for four with a solo homerun. Gabriel Gutierrez went three for four with a run in the 5-3 loss to the Quakes.
Cody White improved to 8-5 on the season with a nice start in the Loons 2-1 win over South Bend. He gave up just one run on four hits and three walks with five strikeouts in eight innings.
Juan Apodaca went two for three in the win. Francisco Lizarraga doubled and he scored one of the Loons two runs.
The pen failed the Loons in their 4-3 loss to South Bend but it was Cody White who had his start go to waste. He gave up three hits and five walks with six strikeouts in six shutout innings. Miguel Sanfler gave up three runs and he took the loss.
Joshua Bell was the hitting star in the loss. He went two for four and both of hits were doubles.
The Loons made a 9-1 game interesting by giving up six runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to make it a 9-7 win over the White Caps. Eduardo Perez had a monster day at the plate. He went four for five with a double, a homerun, three RBIs and two runs.
Cody White picked up the win and he improved to 7-5 on the season. He gave up one run on six hits and three walks with three strikeouts in five innings.
The Loons doubled up Fort Wayne 8-4 and Adolfo Gonzalez led the way for the Loons at the plate. He went three for five with a homerun and he scored two runs. Eduardo Perez also had a nice game and he went two for four with a double and two runs.
Cody White picked up the win with a shutout inning of relief. He improved to 6-5 on the season.
The Loons and South Bend each took a game in their doubleheader. In the first game, Cody White threw five shutout innings and he improved to 5-5 on the season. Eduardo Perez went two for three with a homerun, two RBIs and two runs. Adolfo Gonzalez went three for four with a double, a homerun, two RBIs and two runs.
Game two didn’t go quite as well because the Loons were shutout on four hits. Michael Gardner gave up three runs in five innings and he dropped to 3-3 on the season. Bridger Hunt was the only Loon to reach base twice with a single and a walk.
Josh Bell had a big day at the plate in the Loons 8-6 win over the Lugnuts. He went three for four with two doubles and he scored three times. Justin Fuller also had a nice game. He went two for three and he scored twice.
Cody White had a rough start but he still improved to 4-5 with all of the offense. He gave up four runs on six hits and four walks with five strikeouts in five solid innings.
The Loons scored only twice in their 4-2 loss to Burlington and Trayvon Robinson had a hand in both runs. He went two for five and he both scored and drove in a run.
Cody White took the loss and he dropped to 3-5. He gave up three runs (two earned) on seven hits and two walks with two strikeouts.
Three different Loons went yard in their 9-2 win over the Cougars. Eduardo Perez had a particularly good day and he went three for five with a homerun and three runs scored. James Peterson went three for five with a homerun and two RBIs.
