Pitching went out the window in the GCL Dodgers 16-10 win over the GCL Nationals. Yosanddy Garcia homered twice and drove in five and he was one of six Dodgers to score twice. Pedro Baez went three for six with a double, a triple and three runs.
Ramon Paredes picked up the win with two shutout innings. He gave up a hit and a walk and he struck out two. Carlos Alvarez struck out the side in the first inning.
The Suns won 5-2 and while they held the opposition to just four hits, three different pitchers gave up eleven walks. Fortunately, it didn’t come back to haunt the Suns. Carlos Alvarez threw four innings of relief and he improved to 3-0 on the season. He gave up two runs on four hits and four walks with two strikeouts.
Chin-Lung Hu was the hitting star. He went three for five with two doubles and two runs. Xavier Paul singled and drove in two runs.
John Lindsey had a huge game for Jacksonville in their 5-3 win over Huntsville. He not only put the Suns on the board with a two run homer in the first, but he also drove in the go ahead run in the fourteenth on a solo homerun. Marchall McDougall also homered to give the Suns a touch of insurance in the fourteenth.
Scott Elbert had a rough start but the pen really picked him up. He gave up three runs on two hits and seven walks with six strikeouts in just three innings. Carlos Alvarez picked up the win with two shutout innings of relief.
The Suns scored all eight of their runs in the sixth inning in their 8-2 win over Tennessee. John Lindsey hit a three run homerun and Chin Lung Hu went three for five with two doubles, two RBIs and a run.
Alvis Ojeda picked up the win with five solid innings. He gave up two runs on three hits in five innings. Carlos Alvarez struck out the side and he picked up the win.
