Marlon Arias fell to 10-3 on the season with a tough start in Inland Empire’s 8-2 loss to Lake Elsinore. He gave up six runs (five earned) on ten hits and two walks with three strikeouts in four innings of work.
Andrew Locke was the hitting star in the loss. He went two for four with a triple and a run.
Cody White, while he didn’t pitch great, also saw Inland Empire make three errors behind which resulted in three unearned runs. He gave up five total runs on eight hits and three walks with three strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.
Andrew Locke went two for four with a solo homerun. Gabriel Gutierrez went three for four with a run in the 5-3 loss to the Quakes.
Rick Bauer fell to 0-1 on the season as he was tagged for three runs in the ninth inning in Vegas’ 8-7 loss to Fresno. Spike Lundberg got the start and he gave up four runs on nine hits and one walk with three strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings.
Andy LaRoche went three for four with two doubles and a run in the loss. John Lindsey went two for five with two doubles, two RBIs and a run.
Andrew Locke had a big day at the plate in Inland Empire’s 10-2 win over the Quakes. He went two for four with two homeruns and three RBIs. Blake DeWitt went two for five with a double, two RBIs and two runs.
Javy Guerra improved to 5-3 with the win. He gave up two runs on seven hits and three walks with four strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.
James McDonald had one of those mixed bag starts. On the one hand, he gave up up four runs on eight hits and a walk and he took the loss. On the other hand, he struck out thirteen batters.

Down 5-4, Inland Empire tied the game with a run in the sixth and then took the lead with a run in the seventh in their 6-5 win over High Dessert. Andrew Locke hit the only homerun for Inland and he finished with two runs. Russell Mitchell also had a nice day at the plate. He went three for five with a double and two RBIs.
Marlin Arias was hit hard in his start but the hitters and the pen picked him up. He gave up five runs in 4 1/3 and Cory Wade improved to 4-0 on the season with 2 2/3 shutout innings in which he struck out three.
