Travis Denker had two of Inland Empire’s five hits in their 10-1 loss to Lancaster. Jamie Hoffmann drove in the only run of the game.
Alberto Bastardo took the loss and he fell to 4-3 on the season. He gave up five runs (two earned) on five hits with five strikeouts in four innings. Two of those five hits he gave up went over the fence.
Alberto Bastardo improved to 4-2 on the season with a nice start in Inland Empire’s 3-2 win over Bakersfield. He gave up just one run on six hits and three walks with seven strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings.
Shane Justis was the hitting star in the win. He went two for two with two walks, a double and two RBIs.

Alberto Bastardo improved to 1-2 on the season with a nice start in Inland Empire’s 9-4 win over the Quakes. He gave up two runs (one earned) on four hits with five strikeouts in six innings of work.
Blade DeWitt had a nice day at the plate in the win. He went two for four with a homerun, two RBIs and a run. Ivan DeJesus singled twice and he scored two runs.
Alberto Bastardo took the loss in Inland Empire’s 16-8 blowout loss to Lancaster. He gave up seven runs on nine hits and one walk with two strikeouts in just two innings. Each of the subsequent three relievers all gave up runs as well.
Blake Dewitt went four for five with a run and an RBI. Jamie Hoffman went three for four with two RBIs and a run.
These rehab starts really aren’t that fair as Inland Empire lost to MLB Cy Young winner Bartolo Colon. They did tag him for two runs at least, and that’s something that should be encouraging.

Jamie Hoffman had a monster day at the plate last night in the 66ers 9-7 win over High Desert. He went four for five with a homerun, three RBIs and three runs scored. Shortstop Ivan De Jesus also had a good game with two doubles, an RBI and one run scored.
Alberto Bastardo had a rough game in the opening day start. He gave up four runs on five hits and four walks with two strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings of work.
