51s Lose to Salt Lake in Twelve Innings

by @ 11:57 pm. Filed under Andy LaRoche, Las Vegas 51s - April 2007, Mitch Jones, D.J. Houlton, Delwyn Young

This looked like a fun game.  Las Vegas came back from two runs down and tied it in the eighth, both teams scored a single run in the tenth and then finally Salt Lake ended it in the twelth with a homerun by Angels’ top prospect Brandon Wood.  I know the good guys lost, but this would have been a cool game to be at.

D.J. Houlton gave up two unearned runs on three hits and three walks with five strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings.  At the plate, Mitch Jones had a big game at the plate. He went two for four with a homerun and two RBIs.  Andy LaRoche singled twice and scored two runs while Delwyn Young had three hits, including two doubles, a run and and an RBI.
