The Loons went down by five runs early but they held on and came back to beat the Dragons 7-6. Scott Van Slyke homered, drove in two and scored two runs. Adolfo Gonzalez went four for five with a run and an RBI.
Miguel Sanfler picked up the win and he improved to 1-1 on the season. He threw the final inning and he gave up one run.
Inland Empire beat Lake Elsinore 8-2 and Ryan Rogowski had a big day at the plate. He went three for four with a double, a triple, three runs and an RBI. Adam Godwin went three for four with a double, two RBIs and two runs.
Javy Guera improved to 3-2 on the season with the win. He gave up two runs (one earned) on four hits with six strikeouts.
The Suns lost to the Barons 5-3 and Michael Megrew was hit hard. He gave up five runs on six hits and three walks in five innings.
John Lindsey was the hitting star. He went two for five with a double and two RBIs.
Williams Juarez dropped to 1-2 on the season with a rough start in the 6-3 loss to Nashville. He gave up four runs on six hits and four walks with five strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.
Mitch Jones hit a two run homer in the loss. Matt Kemp went two for four and he scored a run.
The Loons lost 7-5 and Thomas Melgarejo struggled in his start. He gave up seven runs on nine hits and two walks with two strikeouts and he dropped to 0-4 on the season.
Eduardo Perez was the hitting star. He went two for four with a homerun and two RBIs.
Las Vegas lost 6-4 to Nashville but it wasn’t because of Delwyn Young, who played a role in most of Vegas’ four runs. He went two for five with a double and three RBIs in the loss.
Spike Lundberg was shelled and he took the loss. He dropped to 2-4 on the season and he gave up six runs on nine hits with two strikeouts in 2 1/3 innings.
The Suns lost 3-2 and the offense never really got going in this one. Xavier Paul hit a two run homer to account for the two Suns runs and no other hitter even had an extra base hit.
A nice start by Giuseppe Norrito went to waste in the loss. He gave up two runs on seven hits with three strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings.
Jason Schmidt was sharp in his rehab start for Inland Empire and he helped in the 2-1 win over the Quakes. He gave up two hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in six shutout innings.
Ryan Rogowski was the hitting star in the win. He went two for four with a double and an RBI.
Eric Cyr improved to 5-1 on the season with a nice start in the Suns 5-3 win over the Barons. He gave up three runs on four hits and a walk with five strikeouts in eight innings.
Cory Dunlap provided most of the offense in the win. He doubled and drove in three runs.
Choo Freeman doubled home Larry Bigbie in the top of the ninth to win it for Vegas. Freeman finished the game two for three and Delwyn Young went two for four with a double.
D.J. Houlton was solid in his start but he didn’t get the decision. He gave up three runs on six hits and two walks with six strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings. Matt Riley picked up the win with 2 2/3 shutout innings.
